What is a Thespian?

A RSK Thespian: This is a honorary distinction as RSK celebrated at our banquet recognizing dedication and excellence within our club. This honor comes with no fee.

An ETA Thespian: This is a Nationally recognized organization through the Educational Thespian association. It is a $35 dollar one-time fee. Benefits of being a part of this it is a nationally recognized program that could benefit you on college application or job applications. The membership gives you access to a theatre magazine subscription. Membership gives you a discount for thespian festivals as well as the opportunity to apply for scholarship, grants, and auditions . International Thespian Society

The International Thespian Society (ITS), founded in 1929, is an honorary organization for high school and middle school theatre students located at more than 4,900 affiliated secondary schools across America and abroad. The mission of ITS is to honor student achievement in the theatre arts. High school inductees are known as Thespians and junior high/middle school inductees are known as Junior Thespians. ITS is a division of the Educational Theatre Association (EdTA).

A Thespian troupe is a nationally recognized honor society that recognizes and rewards excellence among the participants in the theatre arts program. Induction into the International Thespian Society is an honorable achievement. The troupe is not just being part of the drama club.

Benifits of the Thespian Society

Membership in the only international honor society for high school theatre arts students—a recognized demonstration of achievement and a valuable addition to college and employment applications.
Log-in access to his or her member dashboard page and a variety of online benefits.
A one-year, bimonthly subscription to the print edition of Dramatics magazine (a $38 value). The first issue arrives within six to eight weeks. They may also renew at a special member rate.

Eligibility to audition at the International Thespian Festival for admission to college theatre programs, submit original compositions to the Thespian Next Generation Works program, audition for chapter Individual Events programs, and qualify for the National Individual Events Showcase (NIES).
